Please contact a Certified Wind Inspector from the list below to have a Certified Wind Inspection Assessment and Report completed of your property. Please note that wind assessments and reports will not exceed $150.
It is the responsibility of the homeowner to contact a Certified Wind Examiner from the list below and enter into an agreement with the selected Examiner. It is also the responsibility of the homeowner to pay the Certified Wind Examiner for the Wind Inspection Assessment and Report. A Wind Inspection Report completed from the list of SC Safe Home Certified Wind Examiners must accompany all SC Safe Home Grant Applications.

The SC Safe Home Grant Program requires a homeowner to have a wind certification inspection completed on the property prior to a request for grant funds. The final completed and signed inspection must be submitted with the homeowner's application for review. The wind inspection must be performed and signed by an SC Safe Home Certified Wind Mitigation Inspector.
The Wind Certification Entity Surveyor Training Program is designed to provide accurate, current and reliable information about how to identify disaster-resistant techniques. This course will provide in-depth instruction to disaster resistant building and identification of retrofitting techniques. Course attendees will complete an exam that is designed to test their knowledge of the material covered during the course. This course is approved by the South Carolina Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation (LLR) for seven continuing education units. FLASH will provide the required forms for reporting participation to LLR for the continuing education credits. Participants will also be mailed a certificate of participation from FLASH® after completing the program.

SC Safe Home is pleased to announce that The Federal Alliance for Safe Homes, Inc. – FLASH® Wind Certification Entity (WCE) Inspector Course for Code Enforcement Officers and Inspectors will be offered in various locations throughout South Carolina. The courses will be offered only in Charleston and Columbia during the pilot phase of the project. Training schedules will be posted with specific location information. Pre-registration is required and there will absolutely be no on-site registration!
